Hi,
I've had my S2950 about a month now. It's been a good camera for the money (in well lit situations). Multi shot work is much slower than the old S5000 it replaced (RIP). The poor noise on high ISO, only 2 Aperature settings (per zomm position) and general shot speed are the only dissapointments. It has captured some beautiful stuff though, and provided I accept it's realy only good for ISO 200 (or 400 in a pinch for most scenes), I can work with that for now (until I fork out for a DSLR).
Anyway, I was doing some low light, long exposure shots of a city lights scene, and from time to time, after the shot, the screen would go black, and a message saying "Processing...." would appear (a single line of text with white background on black screen). General menu navigation also got slow and stuttery (animations etc were jerky). Then I motices a red line on the screen (just below the top line of text), and some general strange behaviour. Since then, the S mode setting only gives me the options of ISO400(Auto) and ISO800(Auto), not the full rance like the S used to (and P A M modes still do). Given the aperature is essentially non adjustable, the S mode is the most flexible and is really broken. I also noticed it's frequently locking to one exposure, and exposure bracketing does not work in S mode (and some time P mode too).
I've left batteries out for 48 hours, tried the reset menu item etc, but the ISO options are still stuck.
Any ideas, or is it a warrantly return?

i have been trying to get one good picture with my s3300 ....it does have 26 x zoom and all but i am more interested in getting pictures with more details and depth but all i end up with is kind of cloudy shoot....i have tried macro ...micro and what not settings.i am using tripod too still.my question is does the lack of clarity with this camera is default or do i have to dig further....please suggest
